Opening up to others a little more each day

The École Polytechnique has been a signatory of the Equal Opportunities Charter since 2005 and has a much longer tradition of social openness.
In addition, in order to adapt to the open nature of its campus, it needs to invest in its living environment.

Equal Opportunities
Loyal to its long tradition of equal opportunities, the École is looking to the Foundation to support two social openness initiatives:
  • Support for young secondary school pupils who have been on the "A 'Grande École', Why Not Me?" program and joined a scientific preparatory class, by offering a tutoring system and a grant.
  • Access to the École's knowledge for all through the development of a free access website: "École Polytechnique Unrestricted Knowledge".

The Living Environment
With the arrival of new schools and research centres, the X campus will almost double its population and become a multicultural melting-pot with wide-ranging expectations. Discussions have begun to adapt it to international standards with accommodation for students, researchers and teachers, catering facilities, service area, smooth traffic flows, etc.

In this context, the Campaign will place the emphasis on two priorities:
  • Disabled access to the main parts of the campus.
  • Improvements to the leisure facilities available to students.
